Gold Standard Training
Train with us to be a Counsellor at our Gold Standard Academy
In 2013, The Banbury Therapy Centre embarked on a plan to develop a gold standard counselling acadamy, here in Oxfordshire.
The first stage of the plan, to deliver a successful Level 2 Counselling Skills course has been completed. Our pioneer group of students achieved 100% success and graduated in June 2014. They are now on Level 3.
In September 2014 we continued to stage two - delivery of both Level 2 Counselling Skills, and Level 3 Counselling Studies. In September 2015 we will move to stage three, to initiate the Level 4Counselling Diploma. In this way we are developing and nurturing the next generation of counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as adding to the skills of those working in the helping professions. We have chosen to use the excellent CPCAB as our accrediting body and follow their proven successful model. The CPCAB has provided life changing counselling qualifications for 20 years and so helped to change countless lives for the better
We are committed to the principle of inclusivity and encourage people from our entire community to enrol on our courses. For this reason we are offering a limited number of bursary places for all levels of the counselling training. These places, while not complimentary, represent a considerably reduced fee. If you are on a low income please fill out the bursary application form as well as the course application form and attach evidence of income. Please mention in your application that you wish to be considered for a bursary place and include evidence of your income and any benefits that you receive. Please note that receipt of a bursary place is kept in strict confidence and applications are considered on a first come first served basis.
The Banbury Therapy Centre
Our parent company The Banbury Therapy Centre, has served the local community with counselling and psychotherapy for the last 6 years. As a student you will therefore be immersed in a therapeutic environment and have access to the resources available. You can find out more about The Banbury Centre by clicking the link. Unlike other courses which prioritise the profit they make, we limit our groups to a maximum of 13 participants which we deem to be the optimum group number for learning while at the same time being a safe size to explore personal development issues.
New Training Venue
In April 2015 we opened our new training venue near Banbury Cross. As our counselling courses have gained in popularity, we found that we no longer had room at The BanburyTherapy Centre to accommodate them and so we acquired and refurbished the top floor at 18a South Bar.
Contact The Banbury Therapy Centre on 01295 231320 or email Sue Lewis (Level 4) or Rachel Young (Levels 2 and 3), to discuss your intention to study counselling and find out which course is best for you. Once you’ve decided on a qualification, we can discuss with you how your previous qualifications and experience may affect your course entry requirements. From September 2017 we will be running Levels 2, 3 and 4 in Banbury. Levels 2 and 3 are essential requirements for those wishing to enrol on the Open University Foundation Degree in Counselling.
