Anna is a fully qualified counsellor with more than 25 years of experience working with people in different countries.  At present she shares her working life between counselling students at Cambridge University and running  a successful private practice in Warwickshire, including training, consulting, counselling and supervision.  She joins the BCA Tutor team as a Level 4 Diploma Group Facilitator.

Lucy Smith

BSc Hons, MSc

Lucy is an Integrative counsellor, using an approach which draws from humanistic, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic principles. This broad basis of training and theory allows her to offer a strong foundation for Level 2 Counselling Skills. She is a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and adheres to their ethical framework.

Since 2011 Sarah has been a fully qualified and experienced counsellor with an MSc Counselling Psychology and aDiploma in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People.  She currently holds a position as Lecturer in Degree Level Counselling Studies at Warwickshire as well as teaching on our Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling .  In her previous role as school counsellor at The Affinity Federation of primary schools, Sarah led staff training in listening skills,  and  she was also Group facilitator for the adult bereavement group at Myton Hospice, Warwick

Catherine Cour-Palais

Catherine graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Philosophy in 1991 and went to work in the Department of Health.   She is a qualified teacher who received her post-graduate certificate in Education from Oxford Brookes University in 1994.   She is also a qualified Person Centered Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She currently has an established private counselling practice at the Banbury Therapy Centre, works with a local bereavement service, and is an associate counsellor within a university counselling service. 

Nicki Richardson

Nicki is an experienced therapist and teacher.  Included in her qualifications are: A Diploma in Integrative Counselling, A Diploma in Couples Counselling, A BPS approved Certificate in Supervision.
She is studying for a BSc Hons Degree in Psychology with the OU and is an Accredited member of BACP.  She also holds qualifications in teaching adult learners.

Nicki has over 12 years experience teaching all levels of counselling both at Oxford and Cherwell College of FE and as Training Manager for a national charity. She delivers short courses to counsellors on a wide range of subjects and works in private practice from her home.

Tina-Marie Poke

Tina is an experienced Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer with almost 20 years experience of working within the voluntary sector with Relate, Katharine House Hospice and Cruse Bereavement Care and currently works within the public sector and she has her own private practice.

Tina is an integrative therapist accredited by the BACP and works with a wide range of presenting issues, with a particular interest of working with trauma and loss and works with clients from the three blue light emergency services.  In addition to her therapeutic qualifications, Tina has a Diploma in Coaching & Mentoring, a Degree in Leadership and Management; she is qualified to work with adult learners and is a qualified EMDR practitioner.   

Rob Husband

Rob has a Masters in Development Training through the University of Cumbria, a Level 5 Coaching Qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, and in the summer of 2017 he is due to graduated with the Banbury Counselling Academy with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.He has been working with groups to facilitate learning for over 20 years, starting by working with young people and young adults in a homeless project, then training housing support and youth workers to enable young people to find their own solutions to life problems they were experiencing.  He then became involved in leadership and management development running a management development department for a national charity. He is now a Founding Director of Space2think a learning and development organisation. In 2018 he will be teaching the Level 3 Counselling Studies course at BCA.

Rachel Young

Rachel is Director of the Banbury Counselling Academy.  She holds a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, as well as an Higher and Post Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy Theory and Group Facilitation.  She is a Member UKAHPP (Association of Humanistic Psychological Practitioners)  Rachel is a an experienced group facilitator having worked for some years as an addictions group therapist and trained in Gestalt group facilitation.  She has worked as a psychotherapist since 2006 and is also a Director of The Banbury Therapy Centre which she founded in 2009.

Jo Collins

Jo is our administrator and supports tutors and students alike, ensuring that all the paperwork and organisation runs smoothly, allowing the teaching and learning to go ahead unhindered.  Jo is herself a trained counsellor and fully understands the issues of confidentiality, the challenges of counselling training and the boundaries and safety that need to be in place.  You can contact Jo on jo@banburytherapycentre.com and she will help you with any query you might have, or she will pass you on to the relevant tutor.

Rachel Curd – Receptionist.

Rachel is an experienced receptionist who multitasks in the role of front desk, signposting and is a first aider. Rachel also provides administrative support across the Banbury Therapy Group organisation including Banbury Counselling Academy.
