Rachel Young BA Hons
Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor
My therapeutic training includes an NCFE Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, a Higher Diploma in Gestalt Group and Individual Psychotherapy and a CPCAB Level 6 Diploma in Supervision. In my early career I worked for RAPt, Rehabilitation of Addicted Prisoners Trust as a group counsellor working in Bullingdon Prison in their Drug and Alcohol Treatment Unit. I founded the Banbury Therapy Centre with my husband in 2009 and then the Banbury Counselling Academy in 2011. Here I have worked in private practice and developed a thriving business supporting qualified counsellors and training the next generation. I feel immensely grateful for and proud of both organisations. Here the wholehearted message that we promote is that, as well as being a powerful way to resolve mental health difficulties and relational problems, counselling and psychotherapy is a self developmental tool which individuals and groups can use to grow as human beings and develop a true awareness of the power of their potential. My approach to supervision is similar. I support counsellors and psychotherapists to develop and hone their craft. I recognise that you come to me as talented, experienced professionals, and that you acknowledge and welcome the need for support in what can be both the most rewarding and the most demanding of professions. As well as offering a safe and boundaried supervisory relationship, and initiating some challenge into your practice, it is my intention that you emerge from our sessions with a renewed sense of your own creativity, your capacity and your emotional resource
My fees are £75 per 90 minute session but I can introduce a sliding scale for students and people on low incomes.
