CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
I believe that counselling can help us live a more authentic, meaningful and less stressful life and this is what I like to help people to achieve. I do this through helping them look at their current way of being and where appropriate, examine what might have got them to where they are (for instance a difficult childhood or negative relationships in adulthood). I believe that everyone has it within them to find the answers and I can support people to do this.
Issues I have helped people navigate include depression, anxiety, panic, relationship issues, low confidence, stress at work, anger issues, bereavement and loss as well as many others. I have worked in a general counselling setting, with young people and with survivors of abuse. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space where you can be yourself and work through your issues at your own pace.
Embarking on a counselling journey can be extremely difficult and I always keep this in mind when welcoming people on this journey. I also strongly believe that counselling should be collaborative, so I always aim to work alongside my clients. Caring, warmth and compassion are at the centre of my counselling.
I have a wide range of techniques depending on the person and the situation. For anyone who is creative I can bring creativity into the counselling room including working with stories, objects and art. I can also work in a holistic way, to enable greater communication between body and mind which I believe is important both for general wellbeing and for living authentically.
I am a qualified integrative Counsellor (CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling) and I am a member of the BACP, ensuring safe and ethical practice through adherence to their ethical framework.
I work from Banbury Therapy Centre on Fridays between 9am and 5pm although other times may be possible on request. I am always happy to answer any questions regarding my counselling as I understand how important it is that you choose the right counsellor.
