Sometimes our response to difficulties - whether everyday problems or traumatic events - feels like it has become the problem.  We may feel our responses are unhelpful or don’t seem to relate to the problems we are facing. We may feel confused by how emotional we feel without being able to make sense of those feelings. We may start to judge ourselves for how we respond.

My aim is to help you to explore your feelings and find your own inner resources. These resources may have been obscured by anxiety, depression, anger, or any other feelings - or rules you unknowingly abide by - which are getting in the way of you feeling yourself. I aim to fulfill my role with warmth, respect, and care, without judgment, and to maintain the boundaries we need to keep the workplace safe.

My core way of working is “person-centered”.  This means that I will trust in your potential and accompany you as we explore aspects of your life that may feel painful. I work integratively rather than in a purely person-centered way, which means that my work is informed by a number of different theories including transactional analysis and increasingly by trauma work. I will draw on these influences if I feel they may offer a perspective or insight which would be helpful to you.

Fees: I charge £50.00 per 50-minute session payable by cash, card, or cheque. I offer reduced rates to individuals on low income and counselling students. I also offer an initial session rate of £25.00. The initial session would last for 50 minutes and give us the chance to see whether we feel we could work well together. To book a session with me, please email: hannahcounselling4@gmail.com or call me on 07749 941991.
