Lorraine Boswell

Integrative Counsellor

I am aware finding the right counsellor whether changing to a new one or your first one can be a dauting experience, therefore it is important that you choose the right counsellor to suit your needs. This is your time to talk about what you; your, thoughts, fears, dilemmas, and everyday events, which could be affecting you, be comfortable with the uncomfortable. Being vulnerable can feel confusing and overwhelming at times and I can offer you a safe and confidential space to work through the issues you are finding difficult. I work as an integrative counsellor; working in person centred which is a humanistic approach that deals with the ways in which an individual perceives themselves consciously, rather than how a counsellor can interpret their unconscious thoughts or ideas, in other words, you are the expert of yourself. I work to understand your experiences from your perspective, while being open and genuine without judgement. Supporting and helping you to reconnect with your inner values and sense of self-worth. I also work within a Gestalt approach which centres on increasing a person’s awareness, freedom, and self-direction, focusing on the present moment rather than past experiences. I also work with Transactional Analysis therapy allowing a client to explore an individual’s personality and how this has been shaped by experiences, particularly those from childhood, using various models, techniques, and tools.

Our work together, and the techniques we use will be shaped by you. Working with me, you can expect to feel respected, heard and supported. We will move at a pace you feel comfortable with. From our sessions, you may begin to experience a stronger sense of yourself, your resilience, and your own inner-power.

I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you
